Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahamtullahi wa Barakatuh,
It is with much appreciation that I mention the success of the first annual “New Muslims’ Conference”. Of course, for those who attended the conference, it may have seemed as a humble attendance, contrasted by the large scale planning and preparation, but the tireless efforts and preparations by our volunteers who sacrificed their time and resources to the best of their abilities gives me the hope that we will all be rewarded immensely by Allah SWT, for “actions are according to intentions”[Agreed Upon-Hadith]; so if our goal was the hereafter, then we will indeed see the fruits of it there, Insha Allahu Ta’aala. One may interject and say that the conference did indeed have a “humble attendance”, and that it wasn’t something that “seemed” humble, but do we not recall the saying of the Prophet Sallahu Alaihi wa sallam about gatherings which mention and remember Allah SWT?;
Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings), (Allah's) mercy envelops them, Sakinah (tranquility) descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him.''
[Muslim].
Brothers and sisters, can a gathering be any more magnificent? My brothers and sisters, believe that angels were surrounding us. Believe that we were enveloped in Allah SWT’s mercy. Believe that throughout the conference, tranquility was descending upon us. And believe that every single one of our names was mentioned by Allah the Almighty, to the esteemed Angels of the Heavens in praise. And that is the truth, for these are from the words of the beloved and truthful Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad Sallahu Alaihu wa Sallam.
Now let us ask ourselves, are we not successful? Our goals weren’t to impress by numbers, but to attract the heart of a new Muslim to the Truth even more than before. Subhan Allah, is it not success that one brother accepted Islam at the conference? Is it not success that after the conference had finished, two convert brothers were sitting together and teaching the basics of Salah to each other? It was when I noticed these subtleties that I could not help, but appreciate the name of our organization; “Seeds of the Society”, for the new Muslims are indeed humble seeds of Iman, and through cultivation of it by our assistance, and displaying our moral obligations to them, one day Insha Allahu Ta’aala, they will be trees filled with fruits which every child, man, and woman will stop to appreciate the beauty of , and pluck their fruits with zeal, to taste the sweetness of what it possesses: Iman, Islam, and Ihsaan. Insha Allahu Ta'aala.
My brothers and sisters in Islam, having a one-day “New Muslims’ Conference” was not our ultimate purpose, but it is a means to a greater and everlasting goal insha Allahu Ta’aala, and in this world, it is to assist every new Muslim in every way we can, whether it be of a social, physical, or financial value. Of course, we are in need of assistance by anyone and everyone that is willing to work with us, so please do not hesitate to contact us through our website, and give us the support by whatever means possible.
To the esteemed speakers, Shaykh Alaa El-Sayed, Shaykh Navaid Azeez, Shaykh Said Rageah, Shaykh Waleed Abdul Hakeem, and Brother Abu Shahadah, it was indeed a great honor for us that you accepted our invitation to speak about important issues related to new muslims at the conference, and indeed all of you have served as an inspiration to many, bi'ithnillah, and I pray and hope that you will continue to inspire us all, insha Allahu Ta'aala. Alhamdulillah, we are students who have the zeal to assist this Deen, so we sincerely hope, and ask every single one of you to advise us on advancing and progressing our goals with our organization insha Allahu Ta'aala;
Jazakum Allahu Khairan wa Ahasanal Jazaa'.
“And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right.”
(Al-Quran 29:69)
